The 杏吧原创聽Robotics聽Team 9062: Critical Circuits competed on March 21-22 at McMaster University and won their first official First聽Robotics聽Blue Banner. In preparation they have learned the skills needed to design, code, and build the robot for this year’s game; First Rebuilt.
They persevered through the qualification matches and learned how to improve and adapt to challenges throughout. They then had the opportunity to align with top teams 2056 OP聽Robotics聽and 1114 Simbotics in the playoffs. The teams remained undefeated all the way to the finals where they set world high scores and won the entire competition.聽
The team is looking forward to their next competition in April at Niagara College and qualifying for the Ontario Provincial Championship later that month. First聽Robotics聽gives students the chance to learn both technical skills and how to compete with gracious professionalism. The evolution of the program has been nothing short of remarkable. What began in 2020鈥�21 as a modest 3D printing club with just four members has blossomed into a thriving community.
This year, the program saw 95 signups, representing a 750% increase in participation in just two years. Today, collaborators from around the world work side-by-side, making Critical Circuits one of the most inspiring success stories on campus.
