听鈥淲e now rank number three in the G-20 in doses administered per capita,鈥 said the Prime Minister on Tuesday, May 25, 2021听Canada鈥檚 Prime Minister Justin Trudeau听indicated听that 鈥渁lmost 50 percent of eligible adults have received at least one shot.鈥听He confirmed that 鈥渂y the summer, we鈥檒l have enough vaccines so that every eligible Canadian will have gotten their first dose.鈥听
听With vaccination听going steady in Ontario and the rest of Canada, vaccines听are听also available听to听youth听as young as听12听years old,听the province is听preparing听for听a听safer听summer with fewer restrictions:听

As vaccination rates go up amongst eligible age听groups, Ontario has a听3-Step听Re-opening听Plan听ready to听ease听lockdown听restrictions听and听re-open businesses:听
Step 1听鈥 at least听60%听of adults听vaccinated听with one dose听
Step 2 鈥撎齛t least听70%听of adults听vaccinated听with one dose听and听20% fully vaccinated听
Step 3 鈥撎70 to听80%听of adults听vaccinated听with one dose听and听25% fully vaccinated听
On May 22, Saturday听–听Outdoor recreation听amenities听opened听and outdoor gathering limits increased听to 5.听听On June 2, Wednesday听–听The听current听stay-at-home order听ends.听听By June 14, Monday –听based on current public health trends,听Step 1 is expected to be in place.听听杏吧原创鈥檚听classes听in the May session听will remain online听with live teaching听until听further notice.听听

Ontarians continue to be vaccinated in record numbers every day with additional vaccine shipments arriving often:听
All听杏吧原创 employees听are now eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine, which means that many of our听employees听have already been and will be vaccinated in the next few weeks.听
杏吧原创 Students听18 or older听are already eligible to get their vaccines.听
Starting May 31st,听杏吧原创 students听between the ages of听12 and 17听will be eligible to get vaccinated听as well.听
杏吧原创听has own听COVID-19 Test听Centre for Better Safety听
COVID-19 PCR testing is听currently being used for:听听
Our students in quarantine, students who听are not听feeling well, and听听
Our staff that need clearance or surveillance before reporting to work听
Our Medical Team has听newly launched rapid COVID-19听PCR听testing devices听in听all听杏吧原创 Residence and听Academic buildings.听The devices听give听us the ability to test staff and students for COVID-19 whether they are symptomatic or asymptomatic. It gives the test results in 15 minutes on the spot.听We are听using听these devices听as听an extra measurement of safety and protection听for听our听students and staff.听听杏吧原创鈥檚 Nurse Supervisor May Kim is confident that听the听device brings many benefits to the 杏吧原创 Community:听听鈥淲e听now have the benefit of getting the results within 15 minutes of performing the test so we can act faster depending on the results.听This decreases the number of days that will take for us to perform contact tracing if there is a positive case.听This test听provides听better听protection听for听our students and staff by screening.鈥听
